Naruto Ninja Ranks
Below you will find the different experience ranks the Shinobi have.

Academy Student

Young children study in the Academy, hoping to become a strong Shinobi someday. They aren’t assigned missions, but their job would be to demonstrate their skills. They usually graduate from the Academy at age 12 or so, although some graduate at a younger age or some at older age. Their final exam towards becoming a Genin is to demonstrate a tecnique they’ve learned using Chakra and Handseals. They’re teachers are Chuunins.

 

Genin

The Genin is the first step one must take into becoming a powerful Shinobi. After earning this rank, the new genin will be assigned a teacher with a much higher rank of Jounin along with two other genins.

Chuunin

Becoming a Chuunin comes with great responsability and most shinobi do not come this far. Chuunins are assigned though missions, but not to mention teaching Academy Students and preparing them towards the Genin Exam.

 

Special Jounin

Special Jounin are exactly same as jounin, except Special Jounin are specificly assigned to do one thing, always! They aren’t weaker then Jounins, but they are professional at what they do, therefore the kage assings them to do a certain job that they are good at.

 

Jounin

Reaching the Jounin ranks shows excelence and perfection. Jounins are extremely strong fighters who will not be dealt a way with ease. Jounins are assigned difficult missions and tasks for their level. While Chuunins are in charge of teaching Academy Students, Jounins must teach Gennins in groups of three. Kakashi’s trio is Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura. The Jounin’s goal is to prepare the lower rank Gennins for the Chuunin Exam.

 

Elite Teachers

Elite Teachers are those who advice Shinobi and prepare them towards become a Kage! The teacher can teach someone assigned or someone that catches his interest, but they usually advice Jounins towards becoming a Kage.

 

ANBU

Reaching Anbu are the best of the best. It is a group of people selected for usually secret missions and protecting the Kage. Getting into Anbu is not easy, only selected few with extraordinary limits may do it. Kakashi and Itachi, unlike most of people who are able to join anbu when they are teenagers, closer to 20, they both were able to join at no more then age 13.

 

Elite ANBU

When your level surpasses everyone’s by so far that you’re no match for you, you get selected for Elite Anbu clan. They contain only people that have precticly no limits! It is just simply next level level of Anbu.

 

Mising-Nin

These are people that betray their village, and then go against it. They are usually strong since they have to survive Hunters, since Hunter-Nin trie to hunt them down and kill them. Zabuza was one misin nin in Naruto series, other one would be considered Orochimaru. There is nothing really special about them, except that they are trying to destroy the village they were born in.

 

Hunter-Nin

There are anbu people that specify in only one area, to hunt down the Misin-nin to protect the village secrets.

 

Sannin

The Sannin is a special rank given to ‘all wise’ that are above all, they could challange even Kages and be one heck of a match! Currently there are 3 Sannins in Naruto series, Jiraya, Tsunade, and Orichimaru. Sannins are usually away from their village, they don’t really hang around it. If a Kage dies a Sannin is only one that can replace him. If village doens’t contain any Sannins, the kage is taken by a Jounin.

 

Kage

This is the last and strongest rank one can get. Only the strongest shinobi earn this rank and despite their appearance they are incredibly strong. The power a Kage ranking can have is enough to control natural phenomenoms or even ocean itself.

Medical-Nin, Requirements: Medicinal training program.

Advanced ninjas who are able to carefully focus their chakra. Thus, enabling them with various medicinal healing techniques. When a Medical-Nin is added to a group, the chance of unnecessary deaths is dramatically reduced.

Ninja Councilor, Requirements: Jounin or higher ranking.

These politicians work next to the Kage and make important decisions. Just like most politicians they like to rip everyone off and make a lot of money.
